Photos of Butterfly - Adopted 12/16/2000
|Butterfly is our very first little foster dog. Our best guess for breeds is husky/boxer plus surely some other things. We took her in to help find her a home, and clear a cage at the shelter for another dog to have a chance. She had been at the shelter for some time and was starting to get a little nuts from being penned up all the time. She is a real sweetheart, very affectionate, with lots of personality. She gets along with the other dogs, with the cats, and extremely well with people (she is a real charmer, and wants to be a lap dog.) She is extremely bright, and learns very fast. She's and active dog and needs a home with a fenced yard so she can run, but also needs to come in the house to be with people. She would probably be extremely happy with children since she likes lots of attention. She will happily sleep in the bed with|

give her a chance (she has not been allowed to do this, but she sure has tried.)
Unfortunately, we have grown quite attached to her so it will be hard to give her up when
we do find her a permanent home. (But once we find her a home we
can foster another dog.)
|Butterfly went to a home on May 31, 2000. We thought she was all set,
but unfortunately Butterfly's home didn't work out. She came back to live
with us on August 18, 2000.
Butterfly and Hope continued to have their disagreements. As much as we love this girl it is best that she goes to a new home. She finally was adopted to a really nice home on 12/16/2000. There are two girls and two cats in the family for her to play with. We know she'll be happy there, and we know they

to come visit for a few days over Christmas so we look forward to seeing her
Butterfly stayed with us over Christmas. It was great to see her, and she and Hope did just fine. It was a really nice visit. When she went home she it was great to see how much she is loved, and how much she loves her new family. It's clearly a wonderful home.
Butterfly has a new playmate as of 03/19/2001. Another of our foster dogs, Missy, has gone to live with her. Butterfly was quite attached to Missy and her brothers as puppies, and the two of them hit it off again right away. It was clear how happy Butterfly is in her home, and we know she and Missy will be happy together.
Update 09/01/2001 - Butterfly and Missy came for a visit a while back. The two are doing quite well and are as happy as can be. We kept Hope and Butterfly apart just to be safe. They seemed OK, but we wanted to be careful. It sure was good to see them both.
